Smoked Salmon Salad Recipe
What comes to your mind when you think of spring - bright vibrant colors and fresh ingredients. And that’s what this simple recipe is all about. It brings freshness to your brunch/lunch. Very easy to put together and will be the first to be finishes off the plates, believe me.
This recipe requies no cooking, no measurements and no salad dressing. The flavors of each of the ingredients in itself is so vibrant and compliment each other so well. As you may have guessed from the title, this recipe calls for smoked salmon. And since this is the star of the recipe, it has to be super fresh and flavorful to elevate the entire dish.
So try to find the best smoked salmon you can find. Next comes the citrus. Use any seasonal citrus fruit - orange, tangerine, yuzu, blood orange, clementine or mandarin. Whatever is available fresh in your area will work but make sure it’s not too tangy as to overpower the taste of salmon.
And that’s it, the other 3 ingredients work as flavoring. Fist one is the pickle - yes, you read that right. Find your favorite pickle and chop it up real nice and sprinkle that over the Salmon and citrus. Next I use some fresh dill for that herb-y note. Who doesn’t like salmon with dill or a dill pickle - see how they compliment one another.
Lastly I use everything bagel seasoning. It finishes off the salad so perfectly. I don’t add any salt/pepper as the salmon in itself is brined and the bagel seasoning will have some flaky salt in it too. Additionally, salmon has it’s natural oils so you don’y need to add any but if you feel that your salad needs it, add a drizzle of EVOO but I feel it’s not necessary. You can also add some salad greens, but again, my suggestion would be to not complicate it and enjoy the simple flavors.
